As the Senior Risk and Assurance Advisor, you'll report directly to the Group Risk Manager and work together with our dedicated team of experts in Group Risk to provide advice support and professional services to the business.  You'll enable our people to service our customers, while working to practically mitigate operational, financial, legal/regulatory and reputational risk by:

  • assisting the business to implement the risk management framework.
  • educating the business on effective risk management and control assurance.
  • maintaining NZ Post's risk profile.
  • undertaking independent audits of financial, operational and technology processes and provide control advice to management and staff.

This role is all about getting away from your desk, networking with our people, and partnering with senior stakeholders across the business.  You will be constantly discovering and developing your own knowledge and skills while producing meaningful results for both business managers and at the executive level. This is your chance to use your strong analytical skills, balanced with pragmatism and common sense, to create tangible business recommendations in an exciting, growing industry.

Due to the nature of the work we do, key to your success will be your ability to engage and build effective, trusted relationships with people at all levels.  Your professionalism, inter-personal savvy and skill in presenting an argument for change and improvement will be highly valued. Naturally you will need to be financially and commercially savvy, and have a solid background in the provision of internal and/or risk management services in a professional services firm or large commercial organisation. Ideally, you'll be CA or CIA qualified and/or have an accreditation in risk management.
