Cyber Security Programme Manager

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

At NZ Post, we're on a mission to strengthen our cyber security capabilities—and we need a confident, experienced Cyber Security Programme Manager to lead the charge based in our Auckland offices.

This is your chance to deliver strategic, enterprise-level security change that helps safeguard our services for millions of New Zealanders.

You'll oversee a complex programme of cyber initiatives, working across cloud security, protective technologies, and cyber response. With a hybrid delivery approach (think Agile, Waterfall, and everything in between), you'll take ownership from roadmap to execution—while mentoring others and building great stakeholder relationships along the way.

You'll do this by

  • Leading and delivering our Cyber Security Programme end-to-end
  • Managing multiple high-impact projects and a cross-functional delivery team
  • Shaping security-focused business cases aligned with risk, architecture, and strategy
  • Driving continuous improvement in project delivery standards and practices
  • Collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to drive meaningful change

Mōu - About you

You're a confident and collaborative leader with a strong delivery mindset and a passion for cyber security. You know how to manage complexity, influence outcomes, and keep things moving—without losing sight of people or purpose.

You'll combine that with:

  • 3+ years of cyber security programme or ICT delivery experience
  • A track record of delivering large-scale or cloud-based security projects
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience building business cases
  • Solid knowledge of enterprise security controls and protective technologies
  • Comfort with hybrid methodologies like Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall
  • Relevant certifications in programme/project management (cyber a bonus)
  • Excellent communicator who connects well across technical and non-technical teams
