Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 


Part of our wider Cyber Security Team, our IT Risk and Compliance team is firmly focused on delivering better business and technology outcomes through the implementation and ongoing improvement of our established and proactive risk management framework and process.  

We created the IT Risk Analyst role to work with internal stakeholders to improve the security posture of NZ Post assets, mitigate risks and ensure ongoing implementation of our Information Security Governance Framework. 

Your days will involve continuous improvement by automating risk management processes, measuring, and monitoring key risk indicators, and reporting to stakeholders at all levels of our business. 

Mōu - About you 


We move fast in the NZ Post Cyber Security team, so people who are adaptable, autonomous, problem solvers and love to deliver outcomes thrive in our team and within the organisation.  You'll need to bring strong experience in IT Security, Enterprise Risk Management and Assurance practice, and have specialised in an IS role. You will also have: 

  • Professional Accreditations (e.g., CRISC, CISSP, CISA) or equivalent professional IT experience with security experience. 
  • Knowledge of industry standards and guidelines including ISO 27001/2, ISO 31000, PCI-DSS, NIST-CSF, NIST SP 800-37 among others. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the wider cyber threat landscape (Current/Emerging Threat), potential threat vectors and experience analysing and applying insights to enhance security control effectiveness, reducing operational risk. 
  • Excellent working knowledge of how to apply Security Policies and Standards, following best practice. 
  • Proved experience working with Cloud based security controls.
