Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

This role has been designed to accelerate our transformation into a future fit, technology smart and commercially sustainable organisation. The successful candidate for this role will lead the creation of a centre of excellence focused on commercial oversight and supplier relationship management, linking into our broader NZ Post strategy, planning and execution frameworks.  

We utilise outsourced services for various aspects of IT. This role will evolve our strategic technology partnerships and ensure we are delivering the best possible business value, aligned with our business priorities, when utilising our outsourced service providers.  

Alongside peers, this role will also play a key role towards achieving our 10-year technology and data transformation plan from a commercial, portfolio oversight and strategy perspective.  

Mōu - About you 

As the ideal candidate for this role, you will be a technologist at heart, with strong commercial acumen front and centre in your career history. You will be an experienced senior leader and have held commercial accountability of significant technology and transformation budgets. This will be coupled with highly effective relationship and supplier management skills all clearly tested and proven within large and complex technology environments.  

You'll be able to clearly articulate the following skills and experience: 

• Successful experience managing and extracting significant value from large technology run and change budgets. 
• Experienced in IT change portfolio management and governance, including tracking portfolio health across costs, time, scope and overall delivery performance.   
• Highly capable people leaderships skills with the ability to inspire and energise. 
• Effective stakeholder management skills within both technical and non-technical settings.  
• Proven experience in leadership roles leading significant technology transformation.   
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate trade-offs and influence stakeholders to obtain agreement on proposed solutions.
