Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Senior Data Engineer plays a pivotal role in ingesting raw data and operationalising NZ Post's most valuable data and analytics products. Our data engineers work in cross-functional squads with other data professionals to build integrated and reusable data pipelines and transformations that enable faster data access, integrated data reuse and improved time-to-solution.
A key part of the role is being responsible for moving these data pipelines (including transformations) effectively into production and making curated data sets available for key data and analytics consumers e.g. business/data analysts, data scientists.
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for providing support for data products and solutions that have deployed into production as well as measuring and monitoring the on-going performance of data pipelines, products and the data platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of the organisation.

We're looking for an experienced data engineer who has a keen interest in data modelling and would relish the opportunity to help us accelerate the data modelling part of our practice. You'll be someone who enjoys working with a team of capable and experienced peers and who values autonomy.
