New Zealand Post utilises cutting-edge automated mail and parcel processing technology - we are seeking a Senior Service Technician to support our on site Service Technicians based in brand new Wellington Super Depot in Grenada.
About the role
This role is outstanding in it's field, as you will have the rare opportunity to join during installation and commissioning of our new processing technology at our Wellington Super Depot. You'll be working on our our brand new, cutting-edge technology, which utilises electrical/mechanical/automation and programming methods.
Once commissioned, the key focus for you will be around servicing and maintaining our parcel sorting machinery, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meeting our operational needs. In addition, as the senior in the Wellington Technical team, you will also be the 'go to' person, to provide next level technical support for the team of 2 technicians. From fault finding and fixing issues as they arise to regular planned maintenance - this role covers it all. Standard hours are Mon-Fri, 8am - 4pm, with the requirement to be onsite ocassionally early or late, for visiblity to the technician operating night shift. You will also need to be able to take calls after hours to support any technical needs.
You will offer a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role/environment, with strong electrical or mechanical technical aptitude. You may already have some team / people responsibitlies or be looking to step up, as such, your relationship building and people skills will be very strong or developing well.
You'll enjoy fault finding and be a practical problem solver who is calm and logical under pressure, ensuring any breakdowns get back on track as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
