  • Start your career with an iconic Kiwi brand
  • Permanent Wellington based role
  • Supportive environment to learn and grow

We have a proud tradition of connecting New Zealanders to the world through a range of diverse and innovative services.  We've been around for over 170 years, playing a pivotal role in the lives of New Zealand businesses, communities and families.  Through innovation, we're making sure we're going to be around for a while longer.

The Financial Accounting team plays a crucial role in ensuring our continued success by providing financial leadership and stewardship to maximise value while managing risk.

What's the role?

In this role you will be given the opportunity to put what you've been studying into practice.  You'll be responsible for daily BillPay pay-over management and you will provide backup for Postlink banking/EFTPOS/ACM reconciliations and other monthly reconciliations. You will be exposed to a wide range of financial accounting concepts and responsibilities. You will be encouraged to learn and grow and work closely with senior members of the team who will assist you with your career progression.

What can you bring?

You will be a recent Accounting or Finance graduate, and ideally be studying towards CA, ACA or AT membership.  You don't need to have previous working experience, because we are more interested in your strong analytical skills, your accuracy, your critical thinking, and how you communicate.  We'd like you to tell us about these things in your cover letter.

What's in it for you?

You'll be joining a team with a leader who is committed to the career development of the team – so much so that he's created this role to provide a career progression pathway.  Not only will you have the opportunity to learn the skills needed for a great accounting career, but you'll also learn about how to be a great accountant in a large and complex organisation.

Interested?  We'd love to hear from you

We're excited about offering someone the chance to start their career with us!  We've attached the Job Description on our careers page: www.jobs.nzpost.co.nz – but visit our website, see what we're doing and what we're about then apply online. Applications close on 12 December 2019 and we expect to hold interviews during the week of 16 December 2019.

All applicants will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in New Zealand. Appointees will be subject to a security check, credit check and may be required to undertake a drug test.
