The opportunity

We are looking for you to partner with our business leaders to lift their capability of leading safely and creating a strong Safety and Wellbeing culture. You will be welcomed into an iconic Kiwi organisation, and work alongside a diverse range of employee groups across multiple sites nationwide.

To give you a flavour of your work, the critical focus areas for our team right now are:

  • ensuring effective participation and engagement with workers on all aspects of the HSMS
  • supporting the development of effective people practices and the delivery of key Safety and Wellbeing projects
  • providing relevant input to the Manager, Safety & Wellbeing in ensuring that other senior stakeholders are kept informed of relevant Health and Safety matters
  • working with leadership teams to identify and manage existing and emerging Safety and Wellbeing risks
  • training our frontline staff to ensure they're working as safely as possible every day
  • enabling our leaders to promote our safety culture and policies
  • managing risks and incidents and provide meaningful analysis and reporting.

Hours will typically be Mon to Fri, however some flexibility may be required recognising the business operates 24 hours 7 days a week.

About you

With your knowledge of New Zealand Health and Safety regulatory framework and your insight and experience, you will play a part in implementing the systems, tools and resources to contribute positively to managing the safety and wellbeing of all NZ Post's people.

Ideally you have the following:

  • Experience with project management encompassing a wide range of stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of H&S legislation.
  • Savvy with reporting tools and to support all levels of the organisation
  • Outstanding communication and presenting skills
  • A genuine interest in people and comfortable building relationships with leaders and external stakeholders; including unions and auditors.

This role is key to our safety initiatives and as such would welcome experienced practitioners.
