Here at NZ Post we're proud of our history and the part we've played in the growth of New Zealand. We are now in an exciting new era where NZ Post is transforming into a digital business, where new markets and opportunities are opening every day.

We're after a top-notch Senior Data Analyst to support business growth by providing sharp insights through great storytelling and data analytics (analysis of data, patterns, scenarios and problems, using statistical, algorithmic, modelling and mining techniques).

What does our team do?
We have fun.  We like to laugh and it's absolutely encouraged....we work with a bunch of teams and their data from across the business, and also come up with a lot of our own. We provide strategic and tactical pricing and ongoing analytical support across the wider Sales & Marketing team with an unashamed focus on improving financial performance.

Your role is quite project-oriented, where you'll take ownership of large analytical projects and deliver them autonomously (one main one taking up 6 months of the year).   You'll be providing analytical support for the Pricing and Profitability team through the assimilation and manipulation of varied data sets and qualitative sources of information, providing insights through the analysis of data, patterns, scenarios and problems, discovering insights and identifying business opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, modelling and mining techniques.

You will have a ridiculous amount of rich data at your fingertips, and access to loads more from a variety of sources worldwide. You'll be uncluttering and reshaping data for use in graphics/story boards and statistical models.

We'd love you to have some of the following:

  • Significant experience in data analysis and storytelling, along with the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
  • Deep experience with tools and techniques relating to statistical analysis, quantitative and qualitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms
  • Expert skills in SAS
  • Analytical, interpretive and constructive thinking, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ideally, you'll be comfortable with presentations and may have come from a data analysis role within a sales and marketing function.

Please apply online below. For a Job description visit our careers site: or for further information call Catherine Scott on 04 496 5769.

Applications close on 24 September 2019.

All applicants will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in New Zealand. Appointees will be subject to a security and credit check and may be required to undertake a drug Test.
