At New Zealand Post, we are committed to making sure nothing gets in the way of delivering what our customers care about. Right now, our team in Hamilton is looking for a Service Delivery Manager to deliver on this mission!

There is a real opportunity to make an impact in this newly created role. As a Service Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for the management of both delivery employees and courier contractors, to ensure the delivery of all products and services offered by NZ Post meets customers' expectations. It's a proactive role where you'll be tasked with driving performance whilst ensuring cost optimisation, health and safety and customer service outcomes are achieved.

Based at our modern Waikato Operations Centre, there is a real opportunity to make an impact in this newly created role. As a Service Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for both frontline employees and couriers, to ensure the delivery of all products and services offered by NZ Post meets customers' expectations. 

It's a fast paced and challenging role overseeing management of both courier contractors and delivery agents. You'll be a key point of contact for customers, including dealing with escalations and proactively seeking out opportunities for growth and customer service enhancement. To ensure your success, you will have two coordinators to support you, guidance from your Area Manager and be part of a team of three other SDM's who manage varied portfolios in the region..

This role operates during core business hours, Monday to Friday, however flexibility is required recognising the 24/7 nature of our organisation.

What are we looking for? 

  • Experience managing employees and / or contractors
  • Experience leading people and processes in an operational environment
  • Leadership style that drives a safe, high performing, customer-centric culture
  • Customer service and relationship management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen, including budgets, financials and analytical skills
  • Experience working with employee unions would be an advantage
