  • Newly created role part of recently formed National Contract Management team.
  • Responsible for a $13-15M portfolio of up to 200 contractors.
  • Portfolio covers North Shore up to and including Whangarei (with flexibility on 'base' location).

New Zealand Post is transforming to become a fully integrated service delivery network and as part of this change, we are integrating the commercial management of our contracted delivery services.  This is a newly formed, national team of Contract Management Specialists, each with responsibility for an allocated region.

This role is responsible for ensuring the contracted delivery network in your regional portfolio (encompassing rural / provincial delivery, courier and postie) enables service and commercial expectations to be met in a consistent and sustainable manner. The role works closely with the Service Delivery Managers in your region who manage the service delivery agents to ensure operational service standards are achieved for NZ Post's customers.

As a Contract Management Specialist, you will ensure services in your area are clearly defined and contracts are optimised accordingly. Regular reviews of your portfolio will ensure contractor performance is managed effectively and variations to contracts are made where required. The role has a strong financial element, whereby updates and changes to national pricing will need to be reflected in your portfolio and all payments are compliant and aligned to the relevant documentation.

This role requires strong commercial / financial acumen, sharp attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation. As we strive for a consistent, streamlined approach to contract management at a national level, you will manage contract negotiation processes in your portfolio with pricing, flexibility and sustainability front of mind. Therefore, your background will need to demonstrate solid experience managing contracts, contractors and budgets. While experience in the transport / logistics industry would be an advantage, we are open to other industry backgrounds where transferrable skills can be demonstrated.
