Transport Onsite Coordinator JD Mar 17.doc (Word, 232KB)
New Zealand Post’s Transport team is where all the action happens. With 100+ vans and trucks on the road every night, it’s up to us to ensure our customers’ mail and parcels get from A to B; on time and safely.
Right now, we’re looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our dedicated crew. This is a fast paced role where your problem solving and communication skills will be put to the test. If you enjoy making decisions against the clock and you’re looking for a role where every day presents a new challenge, then look no further!
As a Transport Coordinator, you’ll be on the floor of our Auckland Operations Centre, right in the midst of the action. It will be up to you to identify what’s happening on the floor and be the communication link between the teams loading the trucks, the drivers and the transport control centre. You’ll oversee unit capacity, arrival / departure schedules and load optimisation, ensuring that overall freight movement is managed effectively. Another part of the role involves updating databases and reporting, so you’ll need to know your way around Excel too.
Our ideal new team member can think on their feet, has a proactive approach and is a quick learner. You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to relate to a range of people in order to make things happen. Exposure to the transport / logistics industry would be an advantage but we’re open to considering candidates from operations or customer service backgrounds who demonstrate a keen interest in a transport career.
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career with one of New Zealand’s largest organisations. You’ll be part of a hard working team who are passionate about what they do, and you’ll have the support of a manager who will mentor you to achieve your goals.
